Community Service Student Awards - Student Awards for Excellence in Community Engagement

  This scholarship will be awarded Spring 2018, AY 2017-2018
• Scholarship Intent: The annual Civic & Community Engagement Awards ceremony honors students whose leadership, service, and collaboration strengthen the bonds of engagement that connect the University and the community.
• Criteria:
  1) Award is given to two SF State students who have truly distinguished themselves through individual community engagement efforts or efforts made as a member of a group, or society as a whole.
  2) Demonstrated an exceptional record of service to the community
  3) Applicant to complete essay questions to describe a community service or service-learning activity that illustrates student’s service achievements. Include a description of examples regarding how the service has affected the community, SF State, and the student on a personal level.
  4) Selection is based on the essay written by the student describing how the service experience has affected their academic and personal development and demonstrates their contribution to the community.
