Krishnan Scholarship in Engineering, The

Scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2025 semester

  • Awarding Department: School of Engineering
  • Scholarship Intent: To honor the memory and impact of Dr. Krishnan, former Director of the School of Engineering, on students and colleagues at SF State University by helping highly motivated and deserving undergraduate students become engineers.
    Recipients are highly encouraged to attend the CoSE Donor Dinner in late October 2025 if the donor to their scholarship will be present.
    Scholarship recipients must meet the following criteria as of the award period of Fall 2025.
  • Criteria:
    (1) Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need.
    (2) Consideration will be given to individuals who have overcome obstacles to become an engineer (first in the family to go to college, supporting family members while going to school full-time, holding multiple jobs to support themselves, etc.)
    (3) Recipients can only receive the award for a maximum of two (2) years.
  • Major: Multiple: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, & Mechanical Engineering
  • Class Level: Undergrad: Sophomore, Junior, & Senior; Grad: n/a
  • Enrollment Status: Continuing SF State student
  • Enrollment Requirement: Undergrad: 12 units; Grad: n/a
  • Financial Need as determined by the FAFSA and/or CA Dream App: Not a Requirement
