Hitachi Scholarship

Recipients are highly encouraged to attend the CoSE Donor Dinner in late October 2025 if the donor to their scholarship will be present.
Scholarship recipients must meet the following criteria as of the award period.

Scholarship awarded for Fall 2025

  • Awarding Department: College of Science & Engineering
  • Scholarship Intent: To increase, retain and graduate economically and educationally disadvantaged students in the field of engineering and technology.
  • Criteria:
    (1) Consideration will be given to members of MUP (MESA University Program)
    (2) Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.
  • Major: Multiple: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, & Computer Science.
  • Class Level: Undergrad: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, & Senior; Grad: 2nd BA & Masters
  • Enrollment Status: Continuing & entering students can apply
  • Enrollment Requirement: Undergrad: 12 UNITS; Grad: 8 UNITS
  • Financial Need as determined by the FAFSA and/or CA Dream App: Not a Requirement
  • Citizenship: Any
  • GPA: HS GPA: N/A; Undergrad GPA: 2.0; Grad GPA: 3.0
