Recreation, Parks & Tourism Department Internship Fund (2 scholarships)

Through the Recreation, Parks, and Tourism (RPT) Department Intern Scholarship Fund, The RPT Department offers two annual awards:

Ryan Jones Memorial Scholarship ($500) – focused on creativity and diversity in the field of recreation
Loretta Lowe Events, Travel & Tourism Memorial Scholarship ($500) – focused on sustainability and the Bay Area

Both scholarships are open to RPT majors who will be enrolled in RPT 690 (internship) the following spring or summer.

Awarding Department: Recreation, Parks & Tourism
Scholarship Intent: Provide financial assistance, encourage professional development and future contributions to the Recreation, Parks, and Tourism profession.
Criteria: SF State junior and senior RPT majors who have at least one semester remaining before graduation; complete the intern scholarship application form; at the time of fall application, students are required to be eligible for the internship (RPT 690) the following spring or summer; a 500-word statement on a topic specific to the award, and how award will benefit in being able to meet your internship objectives and general success as a recreation, parks, and tourism professional;
