Bruce A. Rosenblatt CSL Scholarship

The Bruce A. Rosenblatt CSL Scholarship open to undergraduates or graduate students in the College of Science & Engineering with 100 hours of Community Service.

Recipients are highly encouraged to attend the CoSE Donor Dinner in late October 2025 if the donor to their scholarship will be present.

Scholarship recipients must meet the following criteria as of the award period.

Will be awarded for Fall 2025

  • Awarding Department: Biology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth & Climate Sciences, Engineering, Geography & Environment, Mathematics, Physics & Astronomy, Psychology
  • Scholarship Intent: Encourage undergraduate and/or graduate students of the College of Science & Engineering to participate in Community Service Learning activities. To provide financial support for students’ educational goals. Reward students for their service to the community.
  • Criteria: 100 hours of volunteer work or community service and Community Service Learning activities must occur while student is enrolled at SF State.
  • Major: Multiple: All College of Science & Engineering majors
  • Class Level: Undergrad: Any; Grad: Masters
  • Enrollment Status: Continuing SF State student
  • Enrollment Requirement: Undergrad: 6 UNITS; Grad: 4 UNITS
  • Financial Need as determined by the FAFSA and/or CA Dream App: Not a Requirement
  • Citizenship: Any

  1. Will you be at least a part-time (6 units for undergrads, 4 units for graduate) student at SFSU in Fall 2025?
  2. A short essay of 400-600 words (must adhere to this limit on the word count) detailing your CS/CSL experience.
  3. An email recommendation from a supervisor of the Community service experience (include the number of hours completed). Recommendation must be received by the application deadline.
  4. Second e-mail recommendations about your academic qualifications from a professor from SF State. Recommendation must be received by the application deadline.
