Scholarship awarded for the Fall and Spring semesters

  • Awarding Department: Physics and Astronomy
  • Scholarship Intent: Provide support – tuition or other expenses – to graduate students who teach Physics & Astronomy laboratory classes.
  • Criteria:
    1) Graduate students who teach an Astronomy laboratory class; who are MS Physics with a concentration in Astronomy major and teach a Physics laboratory class.
    2) After the first year, the student’s GPA must be 3.3 or above (note: graduate students must have a 3.0 GPA in order to qualify to teach), AND s/he must be enrolled in a core ASTR graduate course.
    3) Graduate teaching associates (GTAs/graduate students) can only receive the scholarship for two years based on above criteria.
