Florence Hale Stephenson Alumnae Scholarship Fund


  • Awarding Department: Kinesiology
  • Scholarship Intent: To be awarded to a Kinesiology major with a Concentration in Physical Education who (a) is planning to enter or has been accepted to the California Teacher Credential Program in Physical Education and (b) demonstrates a strong commitment to improving the lives of girls and young women.
  • Criteria:
    1) Junior or Senior in Kinesiology with a concentration in Physical Education. Preference will be given to incoming seniors on path towards graduation.
    2) Completion of a minimum 24 credits at SF State, including at least 12 upper division units in the Department of Kinesiology.
    3) Minimum undergraduate GPA – 2.8 OR accepted into the CA Teacher Credential Program with an emphasis in Physical Education.
    4) Citizenship – U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or undocumented student (AB540). Demonstrates the need for financial assistance using the FAFSA and CA Dream App.
    5) The winner(s) of the Scholarship shall be invited to come to the FHS Scholarship Brunch and make a short presentation about the impact of the Scholarship on their educational career and life.
