Scholarship Award Period: This Scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2021 semester.

  • Awarding Department: Physics and Astronomy
  • Scholarship Intent: Scholarship to support all majors in Physics & Astronomy, based on academic merit and financial need.
  • Criteria:
    1) Must apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Application. Must have financial need as determined by FAFSA or the California Dream Application.
    2) Students must be in good academic standing with at least 3.0 GPA or higher, upload a recent transcript, two letters of recommendation, and an essay.

Submit an essay and discuss: {A} your future career goals and how this scholarship will help you pursue them; {B} your participation in research activities at SFSU or as part of REU programs; {C} your participation in extracurricular or job-related
activities that speak to your leadership and/or service to your community; {D} obstacles and challenges you have faced and any lessons learned. Your essay MUST address {A}, and at least TWO of {B}, {C}, {D}.
